Along the Trail of Lewis & Clark

Other Stops to Consider

There’s more to the trip than the trail. Sure Lewis and Clark traveled more than 8,000 miles through every trial and tribulation possible. But imagine the challenges Lewis and Clark would have faced if they had to take the kids on today’s trail in the family minivan! If Lewis and Clark were to do it all over again, with restless kids in tow, they certainly would have traveled off the beaten path to explore these modern-day sites.

Explore these sites and the many attractions that await travelers who take to the trail. Take in the world-class sights and sounds of Kansas City and St. Louis, tour Missouri’s historic wine country, bike the nation’s longest rails-to-trails project and explore the state’s wild west history and heritage.
