SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — On Tuesday, April 21, the popular television game show “Jeopardy!” will feature the all-riding tour of Fantastic Caverns in one of the program categories. According to Stacy Oki Skredsvig with Sony Pictures Television/Quadra Productions in Culver City, CA, the show will use an image of the cave and the tour tram as a clue in the category “Wonders of the Midwest” on the Tuesday evening (4/21) broadcast. Quadra Productions, Inc. is currently in production on the twenty-fifth season of the hit syndicated television game show "JEOPARDY!" hosted by Alex Trebek, for Sony Pictures Television.
According to caverns spokesman Kirk Hansen, Sony/Quadra first contacted the popular Ozarks tourist attraction back in January. “Since it is a game show, no details or information about the clues, answers, categories or taping dates could be released until closer to the time of broadcast,” says Hansen. “We were all pretty excited about it. Even though it’s only a photograph and some very brief commentary, it is seen by over 9 million viewers.”
Jeopardy! is seen locally on Springfield ABC station KSPR and airs at 5:00 PM weeknights.
