Opening Spring 2009
This spring, Powell Gardens will open the first garden of its kind in the country. The 100-percent edible, 12-acre Heartland Harvest Garden will celebrate our region's agricultural heritage by showcasing orchards, field crops, vegetables and other food plants grown around the world. The new area will include a new youth garden and education building; a barn that will house a satellite café, gift shop and demonstration kitchen; and a 45-foot silo with an observation deck where you can view the intricate “quilt” gardens below.
