Missouri Botanical Garden Celebrates 150th Birthday

It's birthday time at the Missouri Botanical Garden and the sesquicentennial celebration will include a year-full of festivities scheduled to take place. Plan a daytime visit in the spring to see the 150,000 bulbs planted by horticulture staff and volunteers to commemorate this historic anniversary.

From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the Garden stays open late on Thursdays for "Sesquicentennial Summer Nights." From 5 - 9 p.m., visitors can enjoy live entertainment and a scenic stroll through blooming display gardens.

The birthday celebration continues at the Missouri History Museum with an exhibit of archival Garden images and artifacts from February - November 2009.
