About
The Missouri Division of Tourism (MDT) is the state government agency that markets and advertizes the state of Missouri as a travel destination. Established in 1967, MDT reimbursed slightly less than $4 million in cooperative marketing efforts with Convention and Visitors Bureaus and Destination Marketing Organizations across the state of Missouri in FY10. Missouri Tourism is an $11.4 billion industry for the Show-Me State, supports 281,255 jobs and generates $900 million in state and local taxes each year. For every dollar spent on marketing Missouri as a travel destination in FY10, the state incurred $53 in visitor expenditures.
